It was a view better than I had expected. I had just arrived at the Gare du Nord station on the Eurostar from London, and checked into the hotel I had picked because it was so close. When making arrangements a few weeks earlier I asked for a room facing the street, to make the short trip a little more interesting. After squeezing into and out of the tiny elevator, which, strangely enough, actually stops between the floors, opening on a landing on the stairs, I took the few steps up to my floor and went into my room. Like the elevator, it was tiny, but I soon didn't mind when I saw the view. (See the big picture.)
thanks for commentry on my site!
everytime i see pictures like this, of impressive architecture, i wish i lived in a way bigger city than i do at present- there's nothing of interest here, really. nothing big, just small stuff.

The little elevator just makes the view seem all that bigger.

I'm partial to night-time shots anyway. This is grand!

Great view and night shot. Always nice to travel and end up with a room that has something to look at.
